Dear friends around the world,

My name is Amal Daqqa, a survivor of unimaginable loss.

In the early days of the ongoing genocide in Gaza, I lost my brother and my older sister, along with her children and husband. Our two-story home was bombed and completely destroyed. Everything we had—our memories, our future, our documents, and our dreams—was turned to dust. Since then, we have been displaced nine times, fleeing again and again in search of safety.

Today, my family and I live in a tent in southern Gaza. We have endured more than 700 days of war, hunger, and destruction. We face harsh weather, unbearable heat and cold, humidity, and strong winds, with nothing to protect us but a thin cloth.

We no longer have access to basic food. There is no milk, no flour, no meat, no fish, no eggs, no sugar, no fruit, no coffee, no tea, and no clean water. My family has not tasted anything sweet in over a year. We cook with dry wood because we have no gas, fuel, or electricity.

Humanitarian aid cannot reach us due to the border closure. Medical care is almost non-existent. My parents suffer from high blood pressure and urgently need regular medications, including Enbrel, Baby Aspro, Pyrox, calcium for osteoporosis, and a drug for lipid disorders.

Without them, their health continues to deteriorate.

We are not asking for welfare. We are simply trying to survive.

I am launching this campaign for my family, to help us endure the hunger, disease, and devastation we face every day. Your support can help us afford food and medicine and hopefully find a safe place to call home again. Your humanity can make a difference. It can help us stand on our feet and, perhaps one day, recover.

I am not sharing our story to seek pity, but to tell the truth—a painful truth I live with every day. I believe there are still hearts that can hear, see, and feel.
