Aid Aleksandar's Long Road to Recovery

My name is Nikola, and I’m reaching out to ask for your help. My brother, Aleksandar Djordjevic, was in a devastating accident early Saturday morning around 4 a.m. in Toledo, Ohio. He was rushed to ProMedica Toledo Hospital in critical condition.

Aleksandar sustained multiple skull, facial, and nasal fractures, along with a serious head injury. Although the full extent of brain damage is still unknown, doctors are hopeful, as the hematoma is not currently putting pressure on his brain. He required over 15 stitches on his forehead and around his eye. He also suffered a broken ankle, severe muscle loss in his calf, and a knee injury.

Today, May 6th, Aleksandar is undergoing multiple surgeries on his leg. In the coming days, he will face additional procedures, including facial reconstruction by a plastic surgeon. He is stable for now, but his condition remains serious, and his road to recovery will be long, painful, and uncertain.

Aleksandar is just 32 years old and lives in Chicago, Illinois. For the past four years, he worked as a truck driver—a demanding job that kept him away from home for weeks at a time. In his spare time, he found joy and purpose in staying active and healthy. Anyone who knows him knows how strong, kind, and determined he is.

But even Aleksandar can't do this alone.
