I rarely ask for help. I have prided myself on assisting others during difficult times. I understand the profound impact and relief it can bring to those in need. However, I find myself in a situation where I need help once again.
Unfortunately, after an eviction from the house I’ve lived in for over 11 years and 3 months, without missing a single rent payment, the former owner and realty company are now requesting money for damages that were of no fault of my own. The issue stems from floor damage caused by a fridge that came with the house. Not my fridge! The owner’s attorney has made it appear that the renter (me) is at fault, which is not the case. Unfortunately, there’s no way for us to hire an attorney and fight this in court on our own. I have a fixed retirement income and unable to work if I wanted too due to my service connected disabilities which are rated at 100% by the VA. The forced “vacated” move at the end of April exacerbated my permanent injuries and created a new one that has left me in severe pain in my arms and hands and unable to grip items even simple ones such as a coffee cup. To say this is depressing is an understatement.
If you’re able to help once more, I humbly ask for any support you can provide. I promise to make it up to all of you in the near future. Thank you.
