Aid a Veteran in Need of Basic Necessities

Who I am is someone who is deeply ashamed and beyond depressed because I had to do this.

I'm a 43-year-old Marine Corps veteran whose health has him bent over a barrel. I have chronic pancreatitis related to my military service, and recently I had to take FMLA from work for over a month due to a severe flare-up. While on FMLA, it was discovered that I had two groin hernias and also a bigger supra-umbilical hernia. Nice, right? Doc didn’t think so. I was moved to the top of his surgical calendar and now have to get all hernias repaired at once on the 1st of July.

I was originally supposed to return to work THIS week but now have to be out for ANOTHER month for recovery. I lost 25 or more pounds last month when I was out of work from my pancreas and am now down to 129 pounds, the least I’ve ever weighed as an adult.

With now having two months with little or no income, my savings are gone and there are balances steadily increasing on my credit cards to try and stay afloat. Thank God the VA is covering the cost of my upcoming surgery, but I desperately need help in covering my basic living expenses. I’m only asking for help with the basic necessities I have yet to cover (rent, utilities, insurance, a little food for me and my pets, etc).

Basically, if anyone is able to help me at all, I would greatly appreciate it. Any little bit helps immensely. If you are not able to or just straight up don’t want to, then that’s okay too. Maybe say a prayer for me and others that need it instead. I’m a cranky skeptic, but I promise on my doggos I only need help and nothing more. I hate that I even have to ask. God bless!
