Carter Family Apartment Fire Recovery
Donation protected
On June 22nd 2025, my aunt’s life was turned upside down. A devastating fire destroyed her apartment. The third floor top home to the left was hers. Her apartment was destroyed significantly more than others and was unable recover any belongings from her home. She’s a single mother of two who has spent the last few years fighting every single day to keep a roof over their heads. Even while barely staying above water herself, she’s always been the kind of person who gives to others—whether it’s friends, neighbors, or anyone in need, she shows up. She worked so hard to make that little apartment a home, and now in an instant, everything is gone. They lost their belongings, their sense of safety, and most heartbreakingly, the cat. She is the only one providing for her children, and now she’s left with absolutely nothing but the weight of starting over.
To us—her family—she means the world. Her children adore her, and we know how deeply she loves and sacrifices for them. Watching her go through this is heartbreaking. Any help would mean more than words can express, giving her the strength and support she needs to rebuild not just a home, but hope.
Update: Shirley the cat, by some miracle, was found and was rushed to the emergency vet. She has a few bacterial infections and is currently recovering. The cat is our main priority and we hope to gather some donations for veterinary care for Shirley.
