In December of 2011, I was told that I had a rare form of cancer called a Virilizing Adrenal Tumor. It was removed by a surgeon who was an expert in that area in April 2012. A year later (April 2013), I was told that it had returned in the same area, and had migrated to my lungs as well.
I started exploring natural ways of healing and found a lot of information, which I started to implement. Despite all I did, in April 2014 I began to have symptoms of increased presence of cancer in the form of swelling in my face and legs, and hair loss. I was offered an unusual chemotherapy of mitotane, a derivative of DDT. This is taken as daily pills, gradually increasing from 2 to 15-20/day for up to a period of 5 years.
I tried this, and found it to be physically and emotionally debilitating. I knew that I was poisoning my mind and body, and became very depressed. I was mentally out-of-it, highly irritable, unbalanced in body/mind, had numb legs and hands, and was having a lot of coordination problems (while only at 5 pills/day). I was told the symptoms would get worse.
I feel as though I am not suited for this treatment; I cannot get behind it with confidence, and that is an important part of the healing process. One of the things that I discovered from my research is that joy is the best marker for recovery, and this chemical treatment was making me feel the opposite. I would like to give myself another opportunity to experience a healing that feels joyful to me.
I decided that the best path for me, the one I most resonate to, is natural remedies, and began to do even more research about this. I have discovered that there are many things that I can do, and while many of these are free and I have begun using them (like chi gong, visualizations, breath work, etc.), there are a number of physically and emotionally supportive ones that cost money beyond my budget (such as acupuncture, quality supplements, organic food, and professional healers). If possible, I would love to visit my daughter in Hawaii, and spend some healing time with her there. I have access to a free place to stay and some healing services while there, it’s the transportation and food costs that are presently out of my reach.
I feel I still have important work to do here; my journey is not over, but I need some help at this stage. Thank you for whatever financial or healing support you can offer. I appreciate your prayers and visualizations of health as well. May your generosity return to you many fold.
Many blessings to you,
