AHS Class of '71 50th Class Reunion

Hi, my name is Libby Peterson, Aviation High School, Class of '71 and the Committee Chair for our golden 50th Class Reunion. Our Committee Members include Toni Woods, Janet Bjornethun-Sabers and Christine Salmon-Smith.

This GFM page is for anyone and everyone who remembers their high school days-- football games, parties, dances, driver’s licenses, first cars and occasionally attending class. We are making this plea to the Alumni from Aviation High School (1957-1982), Redondo Beach, CA, but donations from everyone is welcome.

Aviation High School’s 50th Class Reunion for Class of ’71 will be held the weekend of the All Class Reunion-- with our main event happening the evening of July 30, 2022. Our committee has been busy seeking out venues, catering, music, videos and so many more little things it takes to hold a memorable and important event.

Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances and through no fault of any prior reunion committee, there are no reserve funds available for the Class of ’71. We are seeking help to build up our reserves to cover advance costs needed for deposits and other advance expenses. We also want to keep ticket prices as low as possible.

Whether you can spare a few dollars or a lot of dollars, we are asking you to make a donation. Every dollar donated is greatly appreciated by the entire Class of ‘71. These donations are not limited to come from the Class of ’71 or even just from alumni of Aviation High School, we welcome donations from anyone who ever went to a high school reunion to meet up with old friends and share wonderful memories of days long ago.

So as not to cause any confusion, YES, we are still combining our Reunion with the Class of '70. The Class of ’70 has an established Reserve account for their advance expenses, so this GFM request is only on behalf of the Class of ’71 and our contributions for a reunion weekend to remember. This is our Golden Reunion and could be the last one many of us attend, making it all the more important.

Our school may be history, but our Falcon Pride lives on and if you are in a position to help out, it is greatly appreciated.
