A. HOME Supports Frontline Responders
Donation protected
As a local small business owner of A. HOME and proud Summit resident for the past 21-years, like all of you, I am heartbroken over the current state of affairs and the way that COVID-19 is affecting communities the world over. Every instinct in me desires to help in any way possible. When Atlantic Health System and SummitAreaIndivisible.org reached out to ask local residents to sew surgical face masks to help protect local EMS and health care providers at Overlook Hospital, I saw my opportunity.
Through our 12+ year partnership with MATOUK linens and our awareness of their intention to use their domestic production resources to contribute to our country's current crisis; A. HOME proudly purchased 500 masks from MATOUK's factory in MA. We need to protect our frontline responders! More responders on the frontline means more capacity at our hospital, and more people getting the care they need.
These masks are reusable, sanitary face masks, not FDA approved surgical masks or N95 masks but they are intended as the best possible solution in light of the crisis situation. These masks have the added benefit of being reusable and can be washed over and over. We have also learned that ironing these masks at high heat is even more effective than washing at killing the virus.
WANT TO JOIN A. HOME AND HELP PURCHASE (at least ) 500 MORE? Each mask costs $3 for labor and materials, which is just under MATOUK's cost, so we are asking our community to come together to help raise money to create these crucial supplies. A donation of $30 makes 10 masks. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that will help heal our community and keep us safe in this unprecedented situation. With my very best wishes to you and your loved ones, Ashley and the A. HOME team
