It's been a month since our friend left us. For me, the month has been filled with disbelief, anger, shock and still so much sadness. And I know that is the case for many of you still. Our dear friend Ahmed was taken away from us too soon, leaving behind a daughter of just 4 years old, Eleanor.

Ahmed loved his daughter more than anything in this world and the only way we can now play a part is helping him build the future he wanted to secure for her.

We have been speaking with Masha and she is ready to take on the extremely difficult challenge of now being a single mom raising their daugther.

Masha is strong, caring, confident and with the support of friends and family, she will surely give all the love that she can to Eleanor.

But we can help in other ways...

This is where I am asking for your help. We have set up a fund to support Eleanor's first steps when she reaches adulthood. A little help that she can have when she is ready to face the world.

Let's come together to honour Ahmed's memory and give his daughter the best possible chance at a bright future.

As we continue to grapple with the immense loss of our friend, let's find solace in the fact that we can still make a difference for his daughter. We may never fully understand why this happened, but we can do our best to ensure that Eleanor has a stable and loving foundation as she grows up without her father.

It is the holy month of Ramadan, a month when we can come together and give generously, however I also understand that not everyone is able to contribute financially so I will keep the fund open until Ahmed's Birthday on the 5th of May. We will try to launch other funds for the next decade to top up what we are able to build today.

It is a commitment that his closest friends have taken on, and will endeavour to not waver upon.
