As I come up on my birthday this year, after some of the most difficult months I’ve ever endured, I wanted to use this as an opportunity to give rather than receive.

As a Palestinian American, the ongoing genocide in Gaza has broken my heart many times over. With over 40,000 dead, many of whom are women and children and ~2 million displaced and facing famine, I find it difficult to want to celebrate and accept gifts.

This is why I’ve decided to dedicate my birthday to the children of Gaza. Until my birthday, May 7, all donations to this GoFundMe will be matched (within reason) and the total will be donated to the Palestinian Children’s Relief Fund. This GoFundMe is purely for transparency’s sake and I will be posting the final total from your donations as well as my match.

After a long period of darkness, let’s shine our lights for the people of Gaza and make an impact, together.
