Hi my name is shannae mims On August 3rd 2021 I took my son to the emergency room for What I thought Was A sprained Knee . Come to find out it was a concerning x-ray! Which led us to Pittsburgh Children's hospital. After several visits Ahkeem was diagnosed on August 16th with osteosarcoma. Which Is a form of bone cancer. He's 7 years old. I took an extended leave of absence. Due his immune system being compromised from chemotherapy I am unable to work as I run the risk of possibly infecting him with COVID. I have four other children home I have to send with family when im in Pittsburgh, have to make sure they're transported to and from school , plus gas money There and Back To Pittsburgh.
