Hi!

I’m Meg Adler and I’m a huge nerd for torah.

I’ve been working as a Jewish educator in every way I could since 2011. For more than a decade, my vision for democratizing Jewish learning – putting Jewish learning in the hands of each learner – has been growing inside of me. I am working toward a Jewish future in which all adults feel grounded in their own tradition enough to pass it on, with confidence, to their children.

For almost a year I have been writing and sharing my Torah thoughts and teachings on my substack, Turn It, Turn It (which you can find HERE). The response has been amazing and encouraging. I know the next step is for this kind of Torah study to jump out of the screen and into your hands. That’s how the idea for this book was born.

The book I'm writing is an introduction to Torah that is human, conversational, funny (I hope!) and honest. It looks at Torah as a historical document as well as an ancestral heirloom. It sees Torah study as a facilitator of relationships and a form of prayer. This book asks us to approach Torah's often challenging words with reverent humility and audacious creativity. I can't wait for you to read it!

But before it is available, it needs to get published! I'm asking for your support to get this book off the screen and onto the page.

I have teamed up with an independent publisher, Rabbi Gavriel Goldfeder from Alternadox Press. We are raising funds to hire a professional editor, a layout designer, and to take care of the initial printing costs.
