The residents of Waterbury CT and the UnGroup Society are seeking to fund the 10th annual Ole’ Skool Reunion. Due to the large response of the current residents of the city as well as the overwhelming influx of former residents that return home for this celebration it has turned into a major undertaking.
Changes in the legal requirements by The City of Waterbury for large gatherings such as this have caused this reunion to incur some expenses that were never before required.
Among other things will need to purchase insurance ($1,000,000 in one day single event coverage), as well as the cost of Police security.
If we are able we would also like to continue the tradition of providing some free food for those who are travelling great distances to return home to celebrate with friends, family and loved ones.
Originally, this gathering was also meant to provide a scholarship of some kind for deserving youth in the area. If we reach this goal we would also like to reinstitute this practice as well.
ALL PROCEEDS from this fundraising effort will go towards the funding of The Ole’ Skool Cookout/Weekend.
