Those who know Larry know how much he loves to help people. His infectious smile and warm hugs are what he is most known for. Always encouraging and ready to help his friends and family, Larry now needs our help as he battles cancer. In the beginning of May Larry went to see his doctor about a headache that would not go away with Aspirin. Due to his claustrophobia Larry did not get a CT scan. Meanwhile, his headaches worsened with nausea, vomiting, dizziness and weight loss. On June 3 Larry finally went to the ER where CT scans and an MRI showed a mass on his lung and brain. Since the mass on his brain was causing his symptoms, the doctors decided to remove it first. So on June 5th, Larry underwent surgery to extract the tumor from his brain. Most of the tumor was removed and a Gamma Knife treatment was done 3 weeks later to treat tumor cells on the periphery of the tumor site. Larry's final diagnosis is stage 4 metastatic poorly-differentiated non-small cell carcinoma.
Larry has quit smoking since his surgery. His faith grows stronger every day and he fully trusts God with his future. He plans to live a healthier lifestyle and is seeking treatment that will help him in this transition. This will take time and money. But with the help of friends and family the success of his journey is possible. And together we can ease the burden that comes along with his treatment and recovery.
