Hi everyone,

I’m Cody, my uncle’s only remaining family member and closest loved one. I’m heartbroken to share that he has been diagnosed with brain cancer, and he, his wife, and their little boys desperately need our help during this devastating time.

In early December, my uncle began experiencing severe headaches and alarming neurological symptoms that led to an immediate hospital visit. MRI and CT scans revealed a brain tumor. His care has been transferred to a top specialist center, where he is scheduled to undergo brain surgery on January 30th.

Doctors currently believe, based on imaging, that the tumor is likely a high-grade glioma (grade 3 or 4), meaning chemotherapy and radiation will almost certainly be required after surgery. The exact type and prognosis won’t be known until the biopsy results come back post-surgery, but it’s clear they are facing a long, uncertain journey ahead with repeated extended stays away from home for treatment and recovery.

My uncle is self-employed with no paid sick leave, so he will be unable to work for an extended period during recovery and treatment. His wife, who works as a public special education teacher, will need to step away from her job to become his full-time caregiver while also caring for their two very young children

Coping with a life threatening illness, young children, and major financial strain is an overwhelming burden for any family especially when I’m the only blood relative my uncle has left.

This fundraiser will help ease some of that burden and provide stability during this incredibly difficult time by covering:

- Lost income for both my uncle and his wife

- Medical and recovery-related expenses

- Potential gaps in health insurance coverage

- Travel, gas, lodging, and meals during treatment stays

- Basic home and living costs for their family

They are taking everything one day at a time and have promised to keep everyone updated as things progress.
