Those of you who know Kathy are aware that approximately a year ago she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. After multiple treatments she was not showing improvement, rather a decline in her health. A month ago, she was checked into John Muir hospital. After another treatment regime for MS, her doctors performed a brain biopsy. It was determined that she has Lymphoma in her brain. 

Medically she is unable to walk, talk, eat and other conditions that leave her hospitalized. She has a very long road ahead with many rounds of chemotherapy. She has undergone one chemotherapy regimen, which has shown slight improvement in her condition, allowing her to sit up! We're all cautiously optimistic and praying that additional chemo will show continuous improvement.

As one can imagine, she is extremely confused and scared. Rich has been able to stay with her (in spite of the Covid-19 lockdowns) and help her with these fears even though she really is unable to communicate verbally. This is all consuming for him as he's not only helping her but navigating the medical process which can be overwhelming.

As a result of this, neither of them can work, not to mention the Stay In Place order, so they have very little income. They've submitted the paperwork for government assistance, but this takes time and will likely not be sufficient for their medical needs. I know this is a very difficult time for everyone with the pandemic affecting us all, but if you can find a little bit to donate to help this beautiful young woman, her family will be so grateful!!!
