Funeral Costs for John
Donation protected
Hello,
For the past few months my dad has been very ill and sadly he passed away on Saturday 14th May.
My dad, John, was (and is) the best. He was a teacher for 40 years before becoming a bus driver for a while. Up until he was ill, he was working to help provide for mum and I in any way he could. He was always a very selfless man, was supportive of me when I came out to him as a teenager and always put others first.
John was always well liked by everyone he met, always making friends and loved chatting to people. Whether it was his working class background, good nature or even both, he had such great empathy for everyone. My mum and I miss him dearly.
Unfortunately, we need help.
Due to the rising costs of living in the UK, my mum off from work and me unable to work right now, we cannot afford a service that would be fit for my dad. We would like to have him cremated so his ashes can be scattered where his parents are resting and the rest of him can be kept with me and my mum.
I want my dad to have the service he deserves and I want it to be fitting for him. I want him, someone who worked up until he no longer could, to have a service that's special, catered to him and memorable. I want to do him proud.
On average, the cost of a funeral is around £4,000. Although this fundraiser is less than that, This would cover most of, if not all the costs to say goodbye to him.
The shame and embarrassment I feel just having to make a GoFundMe page for my dad's funeral is horrible. I wish I could wave a magic wand and none of this would be happening. However, I feel as though I shouldn't be the one who's ashamed but more the people within this corrupt system where all these Tories and billionaires are in power and expect everyone to live off scraps, should be.
Any donation or share is welcome as I know the cost of living is squeezing us all. I just want to do something for my dad and take some stress away from my mum.
Thank you <3
