On Labour Day Weekend 2018 I was diagnosed by the lead immune Dr in Hamilton Ontario Dr. Joseph Greenbaum with a very rare Overactive Auto-Immune Disorder or disease known as Chronic Spontaneous Idiopathic Urticaria. I also have developed a collapsed left lung as a result of my immune system deterioration through the condition CSIU. Less than %20 of the world will experience a form of Urticaria & less than %1 of those affected will experience the rare chronic spontaneous idiopathic Urticaria. This means I cannot have pressure apllied to my skin (human touch, sit, lay down)) cannot have heat (hot shower, wear regular clothes or winter gear, blankets, use heat in my home) contact (scratch, itch, rub, use a towel, simple daily activity) & spontaneously just have reactions inside & outside my body for no given reason at all at anytime of the day or night no matter the activity or even lack there of.
It has no known cause or reason for contracting & gives me extremely over active itchy hives, redness of the skin, scarring of the skin & is attacking my immune system inside & out.
Normal Urticaria (contact, pressure, heat or allergic reaction) is treated with pills known as Blexten, my rare version is only curable with an injectable medicine known as Xolair. I have contact , pressure, heat & Spontaneous Urticaria combined known as the above mentioned CSIU. Manulife our benefits does not cover Xolair (Omalizumab). I have 28 days to come up with the necessary funds to begin MY NEW LEASE ON LIFE! On Aug. 31, 2018 when diagnosed I was weighed at 196 lbs, today Jan 7, 2019 I was weighed in at 133lbs, thats 63 lost pounds in 4 months.
A common cold could develop into pneumonia or a bronchial infection in my Lung & at this point with such a weak immune system I am high risk of not being able to fight it off & it potentially taking my life. I also have developed a re-collapsed left lung which I just had a dual surgery for ( left wedge re-sectioning & Bullectomy) performed by Dr. Christian Finley of St. Joe's Hamilton on May 28th, 2018. This collapsed lung cannot be addressed due to my weakened immune system until after my CSIU has been fully addressed.
My prescription is 13 doses total, to be administered in 28 day intervals over 1 year. Each dose has a fee of $1546.61 that includes the process fee. The company that distributes Xolair my cure, is named XHALE & as shown on the script receipt they have pre paid a %30 compassionate discount per dose resulting in savings of $463.98 per dose thats a overall savings of $5567.76. I have begun the treatment & received dose #1 starting my curing process, paying $1082.63 Jan. 3, 2019. The remaining fee for the next 12 doses will need to be pre paid for by Feb 7, 2019 which is $12,991.56. I will be doing everything in my possible power to accumulate the funds. I am requesting assistance through this Go Fund Me account of a total hopefully as close to $5000 as possible or beyond. I will also be updating the page often and my condition even after my deadline, & personally thanking all those donors in every way I can. Know that every dollar & donation is appreciated by me, my wife, my family, my friends & many more.
