Things We Lost in the Fire
Donation protected
Hi.
I'm Bryan, and we lost most of everything when our attic caught fire in the early hours, post-Thanksgiving.
Fortunately, humans and pets survived the flames (no casualties), but beyond some salvaged clothes, what the fire didn't take, the means of putting it out did.
Some things can be replaced, over time. Some things can't, and in the days to now as I write this, most everything is still disarray, pretty overwhelming, and quickly proving a bit more than resources presently can catch up with.
I've been asked several times by friends and family if I have set up a GoFundMe, and after a couple of days, finally have to admit that short-term, we're more vulnerable than I thought.
If my photographs survived, I'd be much more willing to trade prints for any assistance. They didn't, as well as the means to take them.
And that's really just one small part of the loss, as well as more immediate risks. Truth being you can take for granted you have a fork to eat dinner with, until you don't have one. There's a learning curve to serving disasters and losses, and for the sake of family who lost with me, it makes sense to put this out, during this uncertain period, when bags of sodden, snoke-snekking clothes clog the cars, every little thing you could count on before went up in smoke, or drowned in the water and foam that put it out.
Give as you feel, and anything given is much appreciated.
