Hi everyone,
I would like to ask for your support in helping Agnes cover veterinary expenses for the rescue pigeons she cares for.
Many of you may know Agnes as one of the quiet heroes working behind the scenes. She spends countless hours transporting injured birds, helping with pick-ups and drop-offs, and providing care for pigeons in need. Much of this work is done voluntarily, and she has personally paid for a large amount of the medical and care costs out of her own pocket.
One of the pigeons she recently helped is Stringfoot Bob.
Bob is a member of the Bexley Aquatic Centre flock. Several pigeons in the flock were suffering from hair and string entanglements around their feet, but Bob's case was one of the worst. Agnes took him into care and arranged treatment with Dr Nat. One of Bob’s toes was severely infected after a red nylon string became deeply embedded in the flesh. Unfortunately, even after the infection was brought under control, the string could not be safely removed and the toe had to be amputated.
After four weeks of dedicated care and two weeks of post-surgery recovery, Bob has made a wonderful recovery and is now living happily and comfortably, free from pain and infection.
Stories like Bob’s are only possible because compassionate people like Agnes step in when no one else will. Every vet visit, medication, transport trip, and day of rehabilitation comes at a cost.
If you are able to contribute, no matter how small the amount, it would help ease the financial burden and allow Agnes to continue helping pigeons and other wildlife in need.
Thank you for your kindness, support, and for caring about these often-overlooked birds. ❤️
