The Agilik™ Movement from Bionic Power is a community-building campaign to crowdfund 25 Agilik™ smart orthoses for children and teens in need. At this point in time, eligible recipients for a donated device must live in Canada, where the healthcare system does not yet cover the Agilik. Let’s all help more kids Stand Taller, Walk Stronger™!

What is the Agilik™?

The Agilik is a smart, active orthosis, designed to help people with cerebral palsy, spina bifida, hemiparesis, and other gait and mobility disorders be more mobile and independent. It looks like a regular knee-ankle-foot orthosis (KAFO), but it’s embedded with smart technology that improves the way the wearer walks.

The Agilik is light, easy to put on and take off, and comfortable. It’s also customizable and adjustable as its wearers grow. The Agilik makes children and young people more mobile and independent, improving the quality of life for them and for their loved ones.

Who are we?

We’re Bionic Power – a small, early-stage company with a team of passionate people who have developed a life-changing therapeutic option for children with knee-extension deficiencies. Our dream is to allow them to keep walking independently for life.

Why donate?

We launched this campaign because there are hundreds of thousands of kids who can benefit from the Agilik, but if they don’t know it exists, we can’t help them. We need an Agilik Movement behind us to crowdfund devices, spread the word about the Agilik, and identify kids who can benefit!

We know we’ve set an audacious fundraising goal. But when a kid puts on an Agilik and starts to move in ways they haven’t been able to before, the beaming smiles on their faces are priceless and we want to see more of that!

Where does your donation go?

In addition to providing devices, your donations will help fund the training and support we provide to care teams—including orthotists and physical therapists—to enable them to tune the Agilik, work with the users, identify others who can benefit, and build out the Agilik Community.
