Agi goes Nepal

Liebe Familie & Freunde, (english Version below)

wie ein paar von euch vielleicht schon wissen, habe ich Ende Oktober grosses & vor allem hohes vor.

Ich fliege am 23. Oktober nach Kathmandu, am 26. geht es dann nach Lukla und von dort beginnt der Trek auf den 6119m hohen Lobuche East Peak den ich dann auch hoffentlich am 6. November (je nach Wetter) erklimmen werde.

Dies ist meine erste Expedition dieser Art und obwohl ich zwar schon auf ein paar 4000er hier in der Schweiz war, ist das nochmal eine ganz andere "Hausnummer" ;-)

Für so einen Trip brauche ich natürlich professionelles Equipment (es geht bis -15 Grad), welches (wie ihr euch vorstellen könnt) leider nicht gerade günstig ist. U. a. brauche ich feste Schuhe, passend für einen 6000er, Steigeisen, Eispickel und natürlich warme Kleider und einen sehr guten Schlafsack der mich auch bei Minusgraden warm hält. (Es wird in Zelten geschlafen...)

Deshalb wollt ich euch hiermit fragen und gleichzeitig bitten, meinen Traum zu unterstützen. Das Himalaya Gebirge hat mich schon immer fasziniert und ich freue mich riesig dass ich mir diesen Traum nun endlich erfüllen kann. Gleichzeitig habe ich aber auch grossen Respekt davor, über 6000m wird die Luft etwas dünn....

Dear Family & Friends,

As some of you may already know, I have big & high plans for the end of October.

I'm flying to Kathmandu on October 23rd, then on the 26th I'm going to Lukla and from there the trek to the 6119m high Lobuche East Peak begins, which I'll hopefully summit on November 6th (depending on the weather).

This is my first expedition of this kind and although I've been to a few 4000m peaks here in Switzerland, it's a whole other level.

For a trip like this, professional equipment is essential (it goes down to -15 degrees), which (as you can imagine) is unfortunately relatively expensive. We talking expedition boots specifically made for a 6000er, an ice axe, crampons, warm clothes and very important a sleeping bag that will keep me warm at night when temperatures drop down to -15 degrees.

So I kindly like to ask you to support me in my lifelong dream.

The Himalayas have always fascinated me and I am so happy that I can finally go on this trip. At the same time I have a lot of respect for it, above 6000m the air gets a bit thin.... ;-)
