My name is Jadon and my cat, Woo, is incredibly sick. Just weeks away from his fourth birthday, I brought him to the vet on May 7th after he had lost weight and had not been eating.
I’ve spent several years rescuing cats in Tucson, AZ. I don’t ask for help lightly. My commitment to my animals goes far beyond providing them food and water — they’re my responsibility, and I want to do the best I can to care for them.
We began this journey with diagnostics — bloodwork and a urinalysis. His bloodwork came back abnormal, and we decided to test for valley fever, which came back negative. Over the weekend, he became severely bloated. At our appointment today, May 14th, our vet extracted fluid from his abdomen and was able to confirm our fear — very likely, this is FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis). We also took X-rays and ran a test to confirm that his heart enzymes were in good range. This rules heart failure out. Woo is very important to me, and I cannot imagine losing him. He has stuck with me through times filled with unknowns and fear. I can’t abandon him now.
