If you were anywhere near the Ron Paul R[3vol]ultion in Texas from 2007 on, you (probably) know the name Scottish Pajamas. Maybe you know her as SPJ, or even Jana. If you didn’t know her name, it’s because one thing SPJ values only slightly less than individual liberty is personal privacy. Somehow, paradoxically, being a very private person never stopped her from being the single most effective cat herder and people coordinator I’ve ever known. So maybe you only know her as the lady with the auburn hair and oversized sunglasses standing in the shadows behind me, taking what I said we needed the grassroots to do and making it happen with frightening efficiency.

However you do or don’t know SPJ, if you valued the work we did back then, in Texas and beyond, you owe a lot to her. And now she needs your help. Jana has cancer, and it’s bad. Cancer is never good, obviously, but this isn’t the “caught it early and removed a mole” kind. As noted, Jana values her privacy greatly, but I can say that she’s already spent a week in the ICU, had a major surgery, and needs more inpatient care and rehab while she seeks out specialists and discusses options to move forward.

The Ron Paul grassroots was always there when I asked them to do anything, by way of Jana. Now she needs you to do things for her. Please donate what you can, and share with others you know. Right now our hope and prayer is that this is going to be a long road, with recovery at the end.

All funds donated will go to Jana’s medical bills as well as medically necessary travel, room, and board for her and those helping care for her.
