April, our friend, has stage 4 cancer. She’s worked all her life and raised two boys by herself. Despite losing her mom at 5 years old and battling cancer years ago, she’s optimistic. She continues working but has to plan for her kids future and medical expenses.

Her cancer treatment options are limited. Surgery is not an option due to the tumor location. Radiation can’t be used a second time. Her only option is strong chemotherapy. Additionally she needs reconstructive bladder surgery, which isn’t covered by her insurance.

April first had cancer in 2011 and beat it in 2012. She worked hard, sometimes two jobs, and finally paid off the medical bills in 2020 on her own.

She’s in constant pain and despite everything wasn’t even sure about this gofundme because she’s always found a way on her own.

This time she can’t do it alone. We need to help her and her boys.

She travels between Indiana and California for cancer treatment. She’s striving to keep her job despite the physical challenges so she can maintain insurance.
