This is really hard to do because chad and I are very private about ailments and heartache, im reaching out cause this ones a big one.
Almost 4 years ago we started chads dream construction company.  So many mornings we would stand in our yard arm in arm thanking God for how far hes brought us and how's hes blessed us. Our business is successful, our children are happy, and healthy.
One day he told me he was scared everything was going great that something would happen and take it all away. I assured him that could never happen..
On Wednesday April 31st chad was smashed by what loggers call a "widow maker"a falling limb. It was oak and 12" in diameter, it fell 60' he was life flighted to salem for a catscan to see if he needed to be taken to Portland.
It broke his right shoulder 5 ribs on the right, 3 on the left side, punctured his lungs, broke his femer in 3 different spots and his T10 had a bursting fracture. The third time drs mentioned the T10 I asked if that meant he could become paralyzed,  the dr said no that means he is paralyzed from the waist down. He kept asking what happened. They took him to Portland from there.
I told our big kids and they wept. Our 7 year old came up and asked if daddy was going to be ok? I kneeled down to her and hugged her and explained to her daddys got a lot of owies but after the doctors fix him up hel come home in a shiny wheelchair that you can put stickers on and paint. Her eyes got big and she smiled.
When I got to Portland chad was a little more coherent and able to talk. He asked if I still loved him and of course I assured him I love him and im gonna keep the business running  "I gotchu babe" he smiled and said I can still run the machines! The hospital let me stay there until 2am because he came in late but they informed me I couldn't stay overnight with him. When I got to a hotel the hospital called me to inform me they had to put him on a breathing machine.  At that moment I realized I could lose him! Hes so strong I never considered that was a possibility! He experienced a small problem with bloodcotts but they say his brain looks good.
Chad has progressed so much they took the breathing hoses out and hes breathing on his own now. He was transfered from icu yesterday. When I saw the garden view from chads new room i immediately realized I could get our Izabell into that garden somehow so she could see her daddy! I raced to the hotel graved izzy, and raced back to look for an entrance to this garden. They're doing construction on one side of it but we couldn't find a way in.. I decided to pray before we went into the entrance to beg.. I explained our little 7 year old izabel hadn't seen her daddy for 10 days! We were turned away so I went back to the construction area and put izabel on my shoulders...I climbed that chain link fence high enough so she could see over the brick wall she sat on my shoulders waving! He didn't see her ...it was heartbreaking. I'm struggling so bad to keep everything together and even brace myself for the next steps.
I've yet to receive his medical bills, and I had contractor friends come take measurements of our home because I don't want him to come home and be frustrated not being able to get around.
Some friends showed us amazing wheelchairs available so he can still get through the jobsite with ease.. Im trusting God to help me accomplish all these goals with the help of friends and loved ones. We all miss him so much.
