Afterlife care for Jeanne Crede
Tonight my Grandmother passed due to colon cancer. She left the world in my childhood home by the side of my Mom, Dad and brothers. We are all very heartbroken and will miss her deeply. This woman was amazing, giving, and would do anything for anyone. We are asking for help with her afterlife care so we can give her everything she deserves. Below is a short back story of my wonderful Grandmothers life and what happened towards the end. Even the smallest donations are greatly appreciated.
Jeanne was married for over 40 years, raising 3 kids and working as a grocery clerk and a day care provider. She had unlimited patience with kids and a never ending bucket of new ideas for activities and craft projects. Every holiday and birthday was celebrated to the fullest. She retired in 2003 to care for her husband who had been diagnosed with chronic kidney failure. She cared for him until his death in 2010. During that time she also was avidly involved in the lives of her 4 beloved grandsons. She spent hundreds of hours, literally, sitting at and traveling to sporting events, school events and cub scout activities. Even being named Cub Scout "Grandma of the Year," an award created just for her, for all of her involvement within the group.
Her only Granddaughter was born in 2011, and due to unforeseen circumstances, was being raised by her Dad alone. Jeanne stepped in and helped her son raise his daughter, keeping her a lot of the time. She used to say that it "kept her young." She raised that little girl, volunteered at her school, and lugged her around with her to all of the other grandkids' events.
After complaining of severe stomach pain on June 13th, 2021, she went to the ER, and was diagnosed with a large mass in her colon. After some tests it was determined to be cancer, but too dangerous to try and remove due to the size and location. The discharge plan was to do chemo and shrink the tumor, then remove it.
Unfortunately before Jeanne was able to start chemo, the tumor was growing rapidly and infecting her body, causing it and her to be too weak to handle chemo. She was readmitted into the hospital on July 18, with an infection. After much discussion with her doctors, Jeanne decided to return home under the care of hospice, and her daughter and her family, and to spend her remaining time with her family.
After looking into Jeanne's life insurance policy that she had so diligently been paying for at least 6 years, to ensure that her end of life costs would be covered, it was discovered that her policy only covers deaths not relating to disease and/or sickness, therefore leaving our family with limited options as to how to cover these enormous costs.
