After the Storm, We Just Need One Last Lift

My name is Tasia Godwin, and I’m a single mother of four beautiful children. Since January 2025, we’ve been living in a shelter, doing our best to stay hopeful and strong despite the challenges we’ve faced. Every day has been about survival—making sure my kids are fed, safe, and still surrounded by love even in the most uncertain circumstances. This journey has taught us resilience, but it’s also pushed us to our limits.

After months of searching and never giving up, I finally received the amazing news that we’ve been approved for our own apartment. A real home. A space where my children can sleep in their own beds, feel safe, and begin to heal. I also just secured a full-time job, starting July 14th, working 40 hours a week to provide a stable future for my family. However, I am currently $1,000 short of the move-in costs, and it’s the only thing standing between us and our new beginning.

This is my urgent plea for help: with just $1,000 left to raise, we are so close to finally having a place to call home. After everything we’ve endured, I want nothing more than to give my children the comfort and stability they deserve. If you can contribute anything—no matter how small—it would mean the world to us.
