80 days ago, my life changed in an instant.

A faulty electrical system nearly set my home on fire. By God’s grace, we were spared from the flames but the damage left behind took almost everything we owned. By the time we walked back in our home 10 days later, the aftermath destroyed our belongings. We lost food, clothing, and all our furniture due to mold and mildew after our home was left uninhabitable and we were told it was unsafe for us to enter back in!

I’ve now packed up and removed what little we could save. The house we worked so hard for is empty, and my children and I are in temporary housing, trying to figure out our next steps.

These past 80 days have been an emotional rollercoaster holding it together in front of others, breaking down in private. I’ve fought to keep a smile for my kids, even while the weight of it all felt unbearable.

Through it all, my children have been my source of strength. My daughter told me from day one:

“Just wait, Mommy. You haven’t seen what God is getting ready to do. Bigger is coming.”

I believe her with all my heart, but right now, we’re in the gap between loss and restoration and we need help to bridge it.
