Hi, I’m Charlie Spickler, a Brooklyn-based Jewish documentary filmmaker.
I’m currently in early production on a new film called After Never Again, which looks at the rise and normalization of antisemitism not as isolated incidents, but as a pattern that increasingly goes unnamed until harm has already occurred.
Five years ago, I made Trumpism and the American Jewish Community (currently on Amazon Prime) , and one of the hardest parts of that film was finding people willing to speak openly. Fear and silence were everywhere. This time feels different. People are reaching out, wanting to talk, and asking for this moment to be documented.
I’m making this film as a one-person, micro-budget documentary so it can move quickly, stay independent, and focus on listening rather than spectacle. Like my recent documentary Outcast Nation, this project is being developed for public media distribution through the PBS pipeline.
The funds raised here will help cover initial production costs; travel, basic production needs, and early post-production so filming can begin.
There is absolutely no obligation to contribute. This page exists because several people asked how they could help. If you’re able and inclined, thank you. If not, your willingness to engage, share, and speak openly matters just as much.
With the permission of the Donors i will thank each donor by name in the end credits of the film. I will reach out when the time comes to each of you to get a yes or no if you want you name mentioned in the credits
— Charlie
