Over the past month, my sister-in-laws have been dealing with an overwhelming and heartbreaking series of veterinary emergencies involving her cats, one after another.

About a month ago, they rushed their gray cat Leo to the vet after noticing blood and fearing he was bleeding while urinating. He was started on UTI medication, only to later discover that Leo was not the source of the bleeding.

Shortly after, they realized the bleeding was coming from her black-and-white female cat, Midge, and she immediately took her in to be seen. That same day, while already dealing with Midge’s vet visit, their white cat Angelo suddenly stopped putting weight on his paw and his paw was cold to the touch.

They took both Midge and Angelo to the local vet. Midge was started on UTI medication, and Angelo was advised to be taken to MedVet for further evaluation.

At MedVet, Angelo was diagnosed with a blood clot and a heart murmur. He was started on blood thinners and has been stable, but veterinarians strongly recommended a cardiology consultation to better understand his heart condition and guide his ongoing care.

Late last night, before they could even process everything they were already dealing with, another emergency occurred.

Their black cat Binx was rushed to MedVet for respiratory distress. After evaluation, they received devastating news. Binx had cancer. His condition declined rapidly, and today they had to make the heartbreaking decision to let him go peacefully.

Between multiple vet visits, emergency care, medications, diagnostics, and the sudden loss of Binx, the financial strain has become overwhelming. Because of this, they is now struggling to afford the recommended cardiology appointment for Angelo, even though it is an important next step in managing his condition.

This fundraiser is to help cover:

Angelo’s cardiology consultation

Recommended cardiac testing

Ongoing medications and follow-up care

Any support — whether through a donation or simply sharing — would mean more than words can express. It helps relieve some of the stress during an incredibly painful time and allows them to focus on caring for Angelo while grieving the loss of Binx.

Thank you for your kindness and compassion.
