Last year, my Goddaughter Lindsey was involved in a serious car accident that totaled her car. By God’s grace, she walked away physically unharmed—but the loss of her car created real and lasting challenges that she has been quietly navigating ever since. That accident came on the heels of an unimaginable loss. In 2022, Lindsey’s mother—one of my closest friends, my fellow college alumnae, sorority sister, running buddy, and above all a deeply devoted mother—passed away suddenly from a major brain aneurysm. There are no words strong enough to describe the pain of losing a parent, especially so abruptly. Lindsey’s world changed forever. Grief doesn’t follow a schedule. Lindsey took a semester off from college to process her loss, to breathe, to heal. And then—through faith, resilience, and sheer determination—she returned. Today, I am incredibly proud to share that Lindsey has graduated from college. This milestone is not just an academic achievement; it is a testament to her perseverance, strength, and courage in the face of profound loss.


Now, Lindsey stands at the threshold of adulthood—transitioning from college life into the working world. Like so many young adults, she needs reliable transportation to move forward: to get to work, pursue opportunities, and continue building an independent life. A car isn’t a luxury for her—it’s a necessity and a symbol of a fresh start. This GoFundMe is to help Lindsey purchase a reliable vehicle, secure insurance, and begin this next chapter with stability and confidence. I am hoping that the many friends who loved her mother, along with the kindness of others who believe in lifting up young people who have endured more than their share of hardship, will help us surround Lindsey with support.
