AFTER IVY – Short Film
Donation protected
Hi :p
I’m Rei-Safina Brown, a horror enthusiast and film student in the final stretch of my degree, and I’m reaching out for support to bring my thesis short film, After Ivy, to life.
After Ivy is a 10-minute psychological horror about a girl quietly coming undone. It’s about the strange, slow ways fear takes root, and what happens when someone who’s been made to feel small begins to shift into something else entirely.
This story is personal. It’s rooted in the kind of quiet pain that doesn’t always get screen time, the kind you carry in your body before you even have the words for it. I wrote it for anyone who’s ever felt like they were too much, too sensitive, or just too weird. I wrote it because I’ve been Ivy.
And I’m telling it through the lens I love most: Horror.
Not just for the scares (though there are some), but because horror lets us confront things that are otherwise unspeakable.
The film blends intimate visuals, atmospheric horror, and metaphor-heavy storytelling. If you’re into films like The Babadook, Saint Maud, Donnie Darko or Black Swan, you’ll feel right at home.

We’re currently in pre-production, filming this coming July, and to make this dream happen, I’m asking for support to cover:
Makeup & FX Supplies (for all the lovely visual decay)
VFX Work (partnering with a digital artist to add some eerie beauty)
Location Permits & Equipment Rentals (for our beach, field, and parking lot shots)
Food & Transport for Cast/Crew (so no one’s crying from hunger on top of the horror)
Post-Production Costs (sound design, colour grading, and all that delicious final polish)
Any and every contribution means the world, not just because it's a student film, but because it’s a chance to help tell a story about what it means to feel invisible, the often-overlooked violence of girlhood… and what it means to finally be seen, even if it’s terrifying.
Thank you for believing in this story and in me.
With the most love and appreciation,
Rei-Safina Brown
