Just over 4 weeks ago, 1st October to be precise, I was rushed into hospital after losing my speech and not been able to talk, to find the most scariest thing ever, to have been told that I’ve had a 5cm circumference bleed from my right front temporal lobe towards the central part of the brain, following the next couple of days in hospital I hit an all time low not been able to type or even communicate verbally, thinking “if this is how it’s gonna be then I do t want to be here”, on the sat they moved me to a different part of the ward, making things a bit easier to deal with, with the help of close friends and family, I

Managed to get through the 6 days in hospital. Over the next four weeks at home under close supervision of the stroke team with their weekly visits, unable to drive for 30days, and suspending all my working commitments, with the support of friends and family, the first two weeks went well, the next two weeks were not so pleasant, losing my freedom and the prospect of bills still coming and with no working financial of “where am I getting the money from” constantly whirling around my head, the “which bridge……” thoughts started to raise there heads. Having a really close couple of friends, calling me everyday, brought me through it, back driving from last Wednesday, the thoughts of still not going back to work and still no financial status, the stroke team have been out today, happy with my progress they have discharged me… thank you to everyone who has wished me well with my recovery and keeps asking how I am.
