After fire support for Nisbet family

Donation protected
My name is Lisa Scott and my daughter Marissa Booth-Nisbet who is 14 weeks pregnant, Son-in-law Jonathan Nisbet, and 5-year-old grandson Isaac Nisbet had their lives forever changed on February 19th, 2022 when they lost their home to an electrical fire.

It started in the carport area taking with it their small camper that happened to have Marissa's equipment for her newborn photography business in it. From there it spread quickly to the master bedroom and before the fire department could reach their location in Bronson, FL it caught the roofline which helped the fire run rapidly across the rest of the home to finish its run at Isaac's room where the roof collapsed. We know the loss of this kind is hard but our hearts always go out to the little ones the most whose whole world is still so small and so much of it is their home, their room, and the little things in it. Isaac is truly being brave and taking it like a big boy.

The home is not liveable and due to the chemicals and water damage, not much can be salvaged from the ruins. The fire inspector told them that porous items cannot be saved. So what may have passed untouched by the actual flames has sub come to smoke and water. Our hope is that some mementos of Isaac's first few years can be saved. Pictures, coming home from hospital outfits, as well as cherished hand-made blankets from family members who are no longer with us.

In the weeks and months to come, the rebuilding will be long and hard, especially with a new baby on the way. Marissa and Jon were just in the beginning stages of preparing their home for the birth of the newest addition to the Nisbet family. So now there will be even more challenges in trying to get things ready for that day.

The love and support of our neighbors who have already come together for our family in many ways have really touched our hearts. From the neighbor who broke through a window with the fire raging to rescue Isaac's little puppy, he got for Christmas and the family cat, to the ones who helped take care of them until things settled down that day so Marissa and Jon could collect their thoughts and try to move forward. We truly are overwhelmed with the kindness of this little community during this difficult time. Thank you, Thank you!
