A final appeal to my friends.

Hello everyone, its Steve in Palm Springs.
I devoted my working career to the hospitality industry, culminating in being General Manager of the Sacramento International Youth Hostel, a part of Hostelling International-American Youth Hostels, a 501c3 non-profit organization.
In 2012 I semi-retired and relocated to Palm Springs. I don't receive a company pension but became eligible for social security in 2018.
I always realized social security alone would not have been enough to support myself in semi-retirement. So, I began a second career as a home health aide to supplement my social security income. COVID interrupted that but I was able to resume working in late 2022.
For many years, I have experienced significant health issues, primarily the result of insulin dependent diabetes that I was able to manage. Late in 2022, I began experiencing severe fatigue, arrythmia of the heart and an overall unexpected deterioration of health. The diagnosis was sepsis with a severe infection of the foot that required emergency amputation of a toe and part of the foot. Healing was very slow, as is often the case for diabetics. For a period of months, I was required to have in hospital twice daily intravenous antibiotic infusions followed by a period of hyperbaric chamber treatments to ensure the wound healed
Due to these medical issues I have been unable to work since December of 2022 and relied upon my savings to get by.
I do have reasonable medical insurance and Medicare. However, there are ongoing co-payments and other life expenses that my modest social security does not cover.
My foot is now mostly healed, and I was hopeful I could soon resume working part time in home healthcare.
However, a recent CT scan and biopsy reveled I now have Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma and I am currently doing a 12 week series of debilitating chemotherapy and radiation to address the tumors. I will not be able to resume work for a number of months.
With my savings depleted, I respectfully ask if there are individuals who can assist me financially.
No one enjoys asking for help. I would humbly appreciate any assistance you can offer at this time.
