I started this fundraiser for my dear friend Kristi Vibbert, who has faced more hardship this year than anyone should have to endure.

Earlier this year, Kristi’s husband Tim — her partner and the family’s breadwinner — suffered a major stroke. He has begun the long, difficult road to recovery, but he is still unable to work and no longer qualifies for disability income from his job.

Kristi has been working tirelessly to apply for every form of assistance available, but the process has been painfully slow, and no state aid has arrived yet. Meanwhile, Tim continues to need care — and while their son helps lift and care for his dad, he truly needs professional medical support that the family can’t afford.

Then, heartbreak struck again when their beloved cat Pluto became critically ill. Kristi rushed her to the emergency vet, hoping for a miracle. Although Pluto fought hard, she didn’t make it. Kristi was left with a $2,751.05 vet bill, which she had to put on CareCredit just to pay for the services.

Now, with Tim’s recovery ongoing, her daughter away at college, and the emotional toll of losing their pet, Kristi is stretched to the breaking point — unsure how she’ll cover daily expenses, let alone the mountain of bills piling up.

Kristi has always been the one to lend a hand, comfort others, and find light in dark times. Today, she needs that same kindness returned.
