After a devastating fire, help rebuild car 297
Donation protected
Rally communities far and wide, I am starting this support for my dad, Steve Greer. I went back and forth on starting this, but I know our team needs the help.
This past weekend at the Olympus Rally in Washington State, our beloved Colin McRae replica rally car #297 caught fire in a freak accident and is a total loss. Thankfully, the guys made it out okay, apart from some smoke inhalation.
Steve has been a constant in the PNW rally community for the last 17+ years. We had our first race together in 2005. This Legacy was his favorite car he’s ever built and seemed to be a fan favorite all over the world. Our team doesn’t have sponsors or professional builders. We are a grassroots team with Steve and David doing the work themselves. I want to help him rebuild his car and I know I’ll need your guys’ help.
It’s a huge ask, but I know we can do it for my dad and our Wild Irish Motorsports rally team. He’s coming up on his 72nd birthday and his words after the fire were “I’m not old enough to quit now, I won’t be satisfied if I stop and just start volunteering. I want to keep rallying.” If you know him, you know I edited out the swear words for that.
Thank you guys for all of your support over the years and especially now in this absolutely heartbreaking time.
Let’s build this damn rally car!
