Support Tim: A Lifelong Trucker & Caregiver Facing Emphysema

Donation protected
Hi, I’m Audrey, and I’ve created this fundraiser for my dad, Tim. He is one of those rare people who would give you the shirt off his back without a second thought. He’s fun-loving, selfless, and full of heart—always the first to check in on others, lend a hand, or offer his time, even when he didn’t have much to give. For over 45 years, he worked as a truck driver, putting in long hours and sacrificing his own comfort to support the people he loved. For many years, he juggled two or even three jobs at once just to make ends meet. About 15 years ago, he moved in with a close friend who was a quadriplegic and became that friend’s full-time caregiver. In addition to his own responsibilities, my dad took on all of his friend’s needs—daily medical care, home maintenance, mortgage, lot rent, utilities, and more. He even paid thousands out of pocket to replace the heating and cooling system and cover critical repairs, because his friend couldn’t.

Now at 64, after a life of caring for everyone else, my dad needs help. He’s battling emphysema that worsened significantly after contracting COVID, leaving him unable to walk short distances without gasping for breath. He can no longer physically work, and with no paid time off or disability coverage, he’s fallen behind on bills, with mounting medical debt and no retirement fund left—having used it just to survive during past illnesses. In 2023, his friend passed away, and the trailer park he lived in was sold. With the trailer now being sold, he’s at risk of losing the only home he’s known for years. My husband and I have brought him into our home—alongside our two kids and our two dogs—but the financial strain is becoming too much to carry alone. My dad has spent a lifetime giving everything he had to support others. Now, I’m hoping we can give back to him. Any donation—no matter how small—will go toward medical expenses, housing needs, and helping him rebuild some stability in this next chapter of his life. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
