After 46 Years, She Lost Her Husband, Help Her Come Home

Donation protected
After 46 years, my mom has just lost the love of her life.

My dad passed away after a hard fight with metastasized lung cancer, and in an instant, her world changed. What was once a life built on partnership, love, and shared strength is now filled with grief, uncertainty, and the overwhelming weight of moving forward alone.

My mom is incredibly strong, but she is also facing challenges that no one should have to face by themselves.

She is a bilateral amputee, living on a fixed Social Security income, in a rural area of Washington where even basic necessities are difficult to access. The nearest grocery store is 40 minutes away, and daily life requires more effort, planning, and resilience than most of us can imagine.

Right now, she is trying to navigate not only the loss of her husband, but also the reality of how to rebuild her life in a way that is safe, sustainable, and surrounded by support.

Her greatest wish is simple: to move closer to her family.

To be near the people who can help care for her, support her, and walk alongside her through this next chapter. But getting there isn’t easy.

Before she can move, there are several obstacles in the way:
•Outstanding medical bills from my dad’s illness
•Necessary repairs to her current home so it can left in good condition and she can get her deposit back to place on a new home
•The cost of renting accessible transportation and costs associated with moving her belongings across the country

This is not just a move, it’s a lifeline. It’s a chance for her to grieve without being alone, to live somewhere safer and more accessible, and to begin healing surrounded by family.

If you are able to give, no matter the amount, it would mean more than we can put into words. And if you can’t give, sharing this page helps more than you know.

Thank you for helping us give my mom the support, dignity, and care she deserves during one of the hardest times in her life.
