Hi everyone — my name is Lybia, and asking for help is not easy for me. But right now, I’m in a tough season and I’m humbly reaching out.

In June 2024, I was rear-ended by a 21-year-old driver who was underinsured and has no assets, which makes pursuing a civil claim unlikely. The accident caused serious injuries to my spine, including damage at L4–L5 that required surgery, and a recent MRI showed a herniated disc at C5–C6 in my neck. Living with daily pain and limited mobility has made even simple tasks a challenge.

Because of these injuries, I lost the job I devoted 12 years to at a local charter school. Losing my income while trying to recover has been devastating, and I’m doing everything I can to stay afloat for my family.

I attend therapy three times a week to manage the pain and maintain basic function. I am working hard, showing up to every appointment, and trying to stay hopeful — but the financial pressure has become overwhelming.

I am a mom doing my best to care for my kids. I have 2 in college and 3 school age. I want nothing more than to heal, regain my strength, and fully support my family again. Right now, though, we could really use a little help and a small push to get through this season.
