Hi everyone,
My name is Kiné, and I’m the founder of Afro Dance Seattle. We’re raising funds to support PNW Afro Dance Camp Vol. 3, taking place at Cornish College of the Arts this year, May 23 & 24, 2026 in Seattle.
PNW Afro Dance Camp is more than just a dance event — it’s a space for learning, connection, and cultural exchange rooted in African dance practices. Each year, we bring together dancers, educators, and community members to train, grow, and build relationships through movement.
This year, we’ve refined the structure of camp to create a more intentional and immersive two-day experience focused on foundations, performance, freestyle, and community connection.
Why We’re Fundraising
Producing a camp like this requires significant resources — from bringing in teaching artists, to providing housing, meals, and travel support, to securing space and creating a high-quality experience for participants.
As we continue building Afro Dance Seattle, we are committed to doing this work in a way that is sustainable, accessible, and rooted in care for our community and the artists we work with.
This fundraiser will help us:
⭐️ Cover travel, housing, and meals for instructors
⭐️ Sustain the operational work that brings this camp to life
What We’re Creating
Volume 3 is centered around the theme: GO DEEPER
Over two days, dancers will engage in:
• Foundations and cultural context
• Performance training and coaching
• Freestyle and battle concepts
• Mobility and body nourishment
• Cyphers, panels, and intentional connection
We are bringing together an incredible teaching team, including:
Cece Bandit (Atlanta), Pyrotech Prince (NYC), Nailah Bulley (Seattle), Jay Musodi (Vancouver, Canada), Isaiah Rashaad (Seattle), and Afreakano (Portland)
Why It Matters
Afro dance spaces like this are essential.
They provide:
⭐️Access to cultural knowledge and lineage
⭐️Opportunities for dancers to grow beyond weekly classes
⭐️A place for community to gather, reflect, and connect
Our goal is to continue building something that feels grounded, impactful, and sustainable for years to come.
