Hi, I'm Andrew. I'm a proud Malawian and I have been in love with the tech industry my entire life. I always dreamt of building an African history App to help fellow Africans or anyone interested to feel connected to their roots, so I finally pieced together my first app, AfriRoots.

It's an app about African history with daily quotes from African leaders, interactive timelines, a very extensive quiz section, and historical events that are usually overlooked.

But here's the thing — AfriRoots is just the beginning. It's a template. A proof of concept.

I want to build more apps. Apps about Malawi's own history — the Maravi Kingdom, the Livingstonia mission, our independence story. Apps that help Malawian farmers check crop prices. Apps that prove you don't need to leave Africa to build something the world uses.

Right now, I'm limited by my tools. I need a proper computer setup to:

• Run AI models locally (so I can build smarter apps without paying for expensive cloud APIs)

• Create, test, and publish apps properly

• Teach workshops here in Malawi for young people who have the ideas but not the resources

Why this matters beyond just me:

Malawi has one of the youngest populations in the world. Over 60% of us are under 25. I want to show them that building tech is something they can do from a cybercafé in Lilongwe or any location with decent internet.

Every app I build will be open-source where possible. Every workshop I run will be free for participants. And every dollar you give doesn't just help me, it helps create a pipeline of Malawian builders.
