African Health Now is a US based NGO that promotes the health and health care of people of Pan African descent by providing information and accessibility to resources through the use of health fairs, workshops, conferences and on-going programs.
Since 2006, African Health Now has conducted free health fairs in various communities (Pokuase, Tema Station, Kumasi), throughout Ghana West Africa. Having serviced over 4000 people, this video is a culmination of our experience in Ghana and the wonderful people we have been blessed to help. Our fairs focus on some of the major silent killers in developing countries such as hypertension, diabetes, breast cancer, and malnutrition--being able to provide basic primary health care and fundemental health care education to some of Ghana's neediest helps combat the rising number of deaths due to NCD's.
On December 1, 2013 (World AIDS Day), African Health Now in partnership with Flirt with the World will conduct the largest health initiative in our history. This three location fair (Accra Mall, Medina Market, Labadi Beach) will focus on engaging communities across Accra in dialogues about safe sexual behavior as well as provide free primary health screenings. Our aim for December 1st, is to reach another 4000 individuals but not without your help.
Please donate now to make a difference. Every dollar counts!
