Hey Team!
I'm super excited to be taking a trip at the end of September to Tanzania, Africa for a medical mission!!!
A group of 14 of us will be the first group of Naturopathic Physicians to join forces with a non-profit group, Marafiki Africa Inc. ( check them out-Marafikiafrica.org!)
The first week we will spend in the villages of Kilamanjaro helping with water/housing projects, and teaching the locals some of the amazing knowledge we've learned in our four years of med school. The second week we spend in their clinics treating patients and offering services they have not previously been exposed to.
The total cost of the trip is $2750, including airfare.
I've had the pleasure of organizing a volleyball fundraiser with The Sand Club (check them out- thesandclub.com), as well as attending another fundraiser at the Ice House Tavern. All in all I've raised about $225!!!! (I think that's pretty awesome). Both of these establishments have been beyond gracious in helping us acheive our goal, and I'm hoping the speading of love will continue.
If you are able, and only really want to, please consider doanting to the cause. I've never been more excited for something in my life, as I get to mix 2 of my most favorite things (naturopathic medicine and traveling) to help make the world a better place.
