Run for Change for African children with SEN needs

My name is Tola. I’m a proud mother to Kevin, a vibrant, kind-hearted 19-year-old with Autism and ADHD. I'm also the founder of The Tola Andu Foundation ( TAF Cares), a nonprofit dedicated to supporting African children and families with special educational needs.

For the past 3 years, TAF Cares has provided free therapy, education, and emotional support to families who often suffer in silence. While Kevin and I live in London, where services are more accessible, our hearts remain with families back home in Nigeria and across Africa, where support is painfully lacking.

In many African communities, children like Kevin are often misunderstood, hidden away, or called names. They are seen not as children with potential, but as problems to be fixed or forgotten.

We want to change that.

And we’re starting with a run.

On Sunday, July 13th, 2025, Kevin and I will be running The Saucony London 10K — not just for the miles, but for the millions of children with Autism and SEN in Africa who deserve to be seen, supported, and celebrated.

We’re running to raise funds for TAF Cares so we can:

Offer free and subsidized therapy sessions

Train parents and caregivers to better support their children

Equip schools with inclusive learning tools

Fight the stigma and shame around autism in African communities

Every step we take is for a child who can’t.

Every pound you give helps bring hope closer.
