For many families in Afghanistan, Ramadan is not a month of celebration.

It is a month of worry.

While we prepare our iftar tables, thousands of families are struggling to afford even the most basic necessities. Parents are skipping meals so their children can eat. Widows are choosing between food and heating. Children are breaking their fast with only bread and tea. 

Since 2019, Afghan Poverty Aid (APA) has been delivering direct support to families living in extreme poverty — especially during Ramadan and the harsh winter months.

This Ramadan 2026, we are fundraising again to provide urgent assistance to families in need. Depending on local needs and safety, your donation will help provide: Essential food supplies or Financial assistance for basic necessities. 

100% of donations go directly to those in need. We operate on trust, transparency, and direct distribution. Your support goes from your hands to families who desperately need it. Even a small amount makes a big difference!

What happens to your donations?

Your generous donations are securely transferred to a trusted family member in Afghanistan (Mohammad Sharif Rahimi) who has volunteered to help with our projects on the ground. After qualifying the families genuinely in need, we safely hand over your donations. Transparency is very important to us, hence the projects will always be documented for those who require evidence of our work. We want you to donate with confidence knowing where your funds are going and how it’s helping families out of poverty.

For this reason I (Mahmod Darwishi) started Afghan Poverty Aid (APA) to ensure 100% of donations reaches the intended destination.
