An Australian born Afghan and a primary school teacher, passionate about supporting children in need. Growing up in a struggling family with a single immigrant mother, I understand firsthand the struggles many families face. Inspired by my mother’s teachings about charity/zakat, I am creating a humanitarian project to support children in Muslim communities in this country. Unlike many projects, this will combine my knowledge of both Afghan and Australian cultures to avoid cultural insensitivities, while also teaching children about their rights. This not for profit will be fully transparent. I can share evidence so every cent can be accounted for. The support will be simple but essential. Food packages, school supplies, and home essentials. I will begin by connecting with mosques, primary schools, restaurants, groceries where I can put up flyers to be able to reach out to families, immigrants, and refugees in need, then grow the project step by step.
