Dear All,
I am writing to you as a close friend of an Afghan woman in Kabul, Afghanistan, whose name I'm unable disclose as it would jeopardize her safety. She is a courageous humanitarian who has worked as a journalist for the first Woman's newspaper in Afghanistan, Rah-e-naw (New Path). She is also a devoted sister, aunt, and mother with an adopted child from a family who could not provide for them. Her advocacy for women's rights in particular and her collaborative work in this domain with Canadian journalists has qualified her for immigration in Canada's Special Immigration Measure's Program as it has left her in danger to remain in her homeland since the return of the Taliban's oppressive regime.
Your financial support allows her to afford travel to Pakistan for fulfilling the requirements of her immigration application which includes a biometrical screening and a medical examination. In the longer term, your support serves in providing her with the opportunity to live without fear of persecution and with complete access to her basic human rights. Together, we can give her a chance at a new life.
Much gratitude,
Mursal Nazary
