Afghan refugee resettlement project

Donation protected
We are a small group of supporters that have come together through our affiliation with Human Rights Watch to welcome 20 refugees to Australia. These refugees fled the chaos and danger of Kabul when the Taliban took over in August 2021 leaving everything behind; their previous lives, family, friends and belongings. These families have come to Australia as part of our Offshore Temporary Humanitarian visa programme (subclass 449).

Our aim is to hold a Welcome to Australia event in November where families can collect all sorts of donated goods, enjoy a relaxed picnic and have the opportunity to meet other Australians. Funds raised through this page will go towards assisting resettlement of our new friends and providing the necessities of life including school shoes uniforms and books, household items, clothing, registration fees for courses to enable employment, drivers’ licenses etc.

We will be seeking donations of goods through other channels. The GoFundMe page is for supporters that prefer to make a donation.

Any unspent funds will be used in our efforts to secure visas for another family in limbo in Pakistan, having been recently evacuated from Kabul by the UN, or will be directed to Hadia Foundation in support of their work with women.

Thanks you for your support.
